This increase in sales can be attributed to the continued stabilization of the Lebanese economy in the years since the end of the civil war.
The latest report from 2017 shows that the sale of vessels and ships in Lebanon remains strong with 77 vessels and ships being sold, compared to the 71 vessels being sold the previous year. This report includes 63 tugboats, 10 passenger vessels and 4 cargo ships, as well as 5 pleasure vessels and 5 fishing gill-netters. The strong sales in this sector over the past few years has seen the building of many new shipyards in the country.
