Ships for Sale in Denmark, produce, trend

Denmark is a leader when it comes to ships and vessels for sale. As a maritime nation, Denmark has a long history in the design and manufacture of vessels, and there is a large selection of vessels available for purchase.

In 2012, the Danish Government released the Danish Maritime Strategy, an initiative to stimulate economic growth in the sector. This marked an increase in the number of vessels being sold in Denmark.

According to data from the Danish Maritime Authority, the number of vessels being sold in Denmark from 2012 to 2018 has been steadily increasing. As of 2018, the total number of vessels sold was 3,304, a 183 per cent increase from the 1,164 sold in 2012.

The majority of new vessels sold in Denmark are built at Danish shipyards. The nation’s two largest shipyards, Kolding Shipyard and Esbjerg Shipyard, have seen a marked increase in the production of new vessels in recent years. In 2018, the two shipyards combined created 2,606 vessels, constituting 78 per cent of the vessels being sold in Denmark in that year.

The types of vessels being sold in Denmark are also changing over time. In 2012, a majority of the vessels being sold were cargo ships and fishing vessels, but in 2018 a majority were leisure boats, yachts, and luxury vessels. This shift reflects an increasing focus on the recreational industry in the Danish maritime sector.

Overall, the trend in Denmark is clear: more vessels being sold, more vessels being built at Danish shipyards, and a shift towards the leisure sector. This presents a positive outlook for the future of the Danish maritime sector as we move into 2019 and beyond.
